Youth Director, Matt Thomas. For over 10 years new students, new questions, new ways of teaching have been required to reach my students and have been incorporated into my practice. I’m forever changing, learning and growing with my students. That’s what is different about me, teaching requires that the teacher understand how the student learns. As questions from students get answered, and personal goals are achieved, I wind up writing new books and purchasing new teaching materials. This process is about supporting the student so that they develop and personalize systems of learning for themselves. So, ultimately, what makes me different, is that I am responsive and adaptive to my students needs, and believe that each student is worth the effort of finding a successful approach, because music is for everyone.
