Good Trouble

As a boy Rep. John Lewis’s mother discouraged his curiosity, saying, “Don’t get in the way. Don’t get in trouble.” He said though, “I was inspired to get in trouble. I was inspired to get in the way.” It was that attitude — along with the example of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. — that made Lewis a true hero of the civil rights movement, a man whose personal story is virtually a history of the movement. And which can teach us much about the times we are living in and how to get in good trouble, trouble for good.

See you Sunday.

With Great Love,

Rev. Kylie Renner
