A sufi proverb says, “there are two rules on the spiritual path: begin and continue.” Both are equally challenging. Beginning requires courage and trust, and then when the honeymoon phase and the initial phase of inspiration have worn off, continuing takes a whole new set of requirements, patience and a deeper courage that allows for being with all that comes up within us on the path to be revealed and healed.
