Unafraid
Bound by conventions, people tend to reach for what is easy. It is clear, however, that here we must be unafraid of what is difficult. For all living things in nature must unfold in their particular way and become themselves at any cost and despite all opposition. Rainer Maria Rilke
Being unafraid shows up in many ways in our lives, sometimes it is the courage to stand up for what we believe, to remove ourselves from a situation, to finally say that we’ve had enough, and at other times it is being unafraid to experience joy, choose a new experience, or to laugh. All of these outward forms of courage come from a courage in our inner lives. I believe that being unafraid is the art of remembering, Remembering that we are never truly alone, that we are part of All That Is, part of God, and learning to live truly knowing that we are never alone may be the only spiritual lesson we may ever have to learn.
Join us on Sunday as we explore what it means to remember to be unafraid.
